Terms of storage
Version 4.1. In effect from 1 January 2026. These terms form part of your storage agreement.
1. The agreement
The agreement is between Keep It Somewhere and the person named on it. It grants a licence to store goods in the allocated unit. It does not grant a tenancy or any interest in the property.
2. Term and notice
The initial term is one month, continuing monthly until ended. Either party may end the agreement with fourteen days' notice.
3. Payment
Charges are payable monthly in advance. Where an account is unpaid for fourteen days, access may be suspended until the balance is cleared.
4. Access
Access is permitted during published gate hours to the person named on the agreement and to any additional person they have named in writing.
5. Your goods
You retain ownership of and responsibility for everything stored. We do not inspect, handle or take custody of stored goods, and we have no knowledge of what any unit contains.
6. Prohibited items
Living things, perishables, fuel and flammables, compressed gas, explosives, weapons, and anything whose storage would be unlawful. We may terminate the agreement immediately where prohibited items are found.
7. Our right of access
We may open a unit without notice where there is reasonable belief of fire, flood, structural risk, an unlawful act, or where required by law or by an order of a court. In all other circumstances we will give seven days' written notice.
8. Abandoned goods
Where an account is more than sixty days overdue and we have been unable to make contact, goods may be treated as abandoned and disposed of in accordance with applicable law. Proceeds are applied to the outstanding balance and any surplus is held for you.
9. Liability
Insurance to $2,000 of stored value is included. Cover above that figure is the customer's responsibility. We are not liable for loss or damage arising from anything other than our own negligence.
10. Monitoring
The site is monitored by camera for security and insurance purposes. Recordings are retained for thirty days. Units are individually alarmed. Alarm and access events are logged automatically and retained for twelve months.
