Frequently asked questions

How long do I have to commit to?

One month. After that the agreement rolls monthly until you give notice. Notice is fourteen days and can be given by phone, email or in person.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No. We do not take a deposit and we do not charge an administration fee or an exit fee.

When is payment due?

Monthly in advance, by card or standing order, on the same date each month as your start date. Business customers with a longer-term agreement may be invoiced in arrears by arrangement.

What happens if I am late paying?

Your gate code is suspended after fourteen days. We will have called you before that happens. Nothing else occurs until an account is more than sixty days overdue, at which point the terms of storage apply.

Can I store a vehicle?

Yes, in a 200 or 300 sq ft drive-up unit. The vehicle must be taxed, insured and have less than a quarter tank of fuel.

What can I not store?

Food, plants, animals, fuel, gas cylinders, paint, fireworks, firearms, ammunition, anything perishable, and anything illegal. If you are unsure, ask before you arrive rather than after you have unloaded.

Can someone else access my unit?

Only if you have named them on the agreement. We will issue them their own gate code. We will not let anybody into a unit on the strength of a phone call, including if they know the code, and including if they are annoyed about it.

Do you accept deliveries?

Yes, during office hours, for customers who have told us in advance that something is coming. We sign for it, put it in your unit, and email you to say it has arrived.

Is the site heated?

No. Blocks B and C are insulated and stay within a few degrees of outside temperature year round. Block A is not insulated and we would not recommend it for anything sensitive to cold.

Can I run a business from a unit?

You can store stock and equipment, and collect from and return to your unit as often as you like. You cannot trade from the unit, hold appointments in it, or use it as a registered business address.
